Bruce Stutz is an author, journalist, and editor. For more than thirty-five years he has traveled the world to report on nature, science, and the challenges of environmental change. His books combine keen observation of the natural world with personal narrative. 

Stutz is the author of Chasing SpringAn American Journey Through a Changing Season (Scribner) a co-author of Theories for Everything, An Illustrated History of Science, (National Geographic), and Natural Lives, Modern Times, People and Places of the Delaware River, (Crown). Stutz was the features editor at Audubon and then Editor-In-Chief of Natural History. His articles have appeared in many national and international newspapers and magazines, among them DiscoverNatural HistoryScientific AmericanThe New York Times MagazineAudubonOnEarthe360, the online environmental journal of the Yale School of Forestry, and Conde Nast Traveler. He has provided editorial concept design and content for permanent exhibitions at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, California Science Center, and Franklin Institute. In addition, Stutz has lectured on climate change and taught environmental journalism in New York University’s Science and Environmental Reporting Program.
